You’ll find her tucking into the latest menu, sipping our exclusive cocktails, documenting our newest events and chilling out at Fistral Spa – all whilst sharing her experiences to the world. With so many cool things happening in the hotel, we thought we’d let Lucie give you an insider look at the total Fistral Experience. Follow and search #FBHxLucie on social media to keep up to date with all things Fistral.
p.s. her posts WILL cause envy
So now we know what Lucie will be getting up to, let’s get to know who she is a little more. We caught up with her in the Bay Bar (sipping her favourite FBH cocktail of course) and sat down to find out a little more about the Newquay local herself…
Best place you’ve surfed?
I’ve surfed in a lot of different places around the world, but I still love my home. My favourite is to surf North Fistral not only because its an amazing surf break but also meeting up with other locals and surfing with them. On the paddle out you always see someone you know and it so nice to have fun and catch up! I love surfing at Fistral as I feel so relaxed in there.
Tell us one thing that no one knows about you…
Ha ha well they will now!!! I’m a bit of a DIY boffin. I took Design & Technology in my GCSE’s and got an A* (and was the only girl in the exam!!) I love putting furniture together, hanging pictures and generally fixing things! Just call me the maintenance gal!!
Fave FBH cocktail?
The Rose Garden! A gin based cocktail, muddled with elderflower, lime and rose syrup and topped with gorgeous petals! The pretty pink colouring is amazing and the perfect after-surf, pre-dinner tipple.
Your idol and why?
Ellie Jean Coffey. She’s an amazing surfer, loves her life, is a strong independent woman!
What three items you’d take on a desert island with you?
Top 3 Instagram pages we should be following?
My favourite Jewellery brand ocean related – @thecoralgrove
I love looking at inspo quotes from – @thegoodqoute
My favourite clothing and bikinis – @protestwomen
Your favourite dessert?
Ohhhhhh I love chocolate fondants with ice cream.. YUMM!!
Obviously apart from Newquay, where would you love to live?
My favourite country is Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands, Spain for sure. It’s like my second home, even though I’ve been to a lot of other countries I will always choose this place for its amazing surf breaks, diverse landscapes and beautiful weather. It really never gets old and I love the Canarian way of life, surfing, chilling with friends, BBQs, watching sunsets and of course their traditional food and wine. I have so many great memories of my time spent there.
If you were to be born in a different era, which one and why?
Definitely 1970s California, the Dogtown era! The hippy lifestyle skating, surfing, festivals and hanging out at the beach with friends!
Your perfect day in Newquay would be…
Wake up to a beautiful sunrise and head for a dawnie surf, followed by a traditional full English breakfast. An afternoon coffee and catch up with friends enjoying the sea views from the Bay Bar is a must before a long walk along the clifftops setting myself up for a huge Sunday roast for dinner. To end the day, sun set watching with a loved one and a glass of ice cold bubbly! Perfection!
