Newquay and the surrounding area are crammed with live music events for you to enjoy this summer, and we have all the ‘need to know’ details just for you.
Perranporth beach is hosting the Tunes in the Dunes festival again this year, and what better weekend to visit Cornwall than the last May bank holiday? Evolving from the popular live music events hosted at The Watering Hole, this festival is a one of a kind where music-lovers can enjoy the epic summer sounds of the headline acts smack bang in the golden sands of one of Cornwall’s hidden gems. Tunes in the Dunes has taken the line-up to another level this year as headlining on Friday night is Dizzee Rascal, Saturday night is The Waterboys and on Sunday night James Morrison is heading back to his Cornish roots to soothe us. Camping tickets start from £25, early bird tickets start from £32 and weekend tickets from just £65.
Hosted on Newquay’s famous Fistral Beach, Electric Beach Festival is THE must go to event this July. Back by popular demand, De La Soul are headlining who are sure to light up the stage with their old school funk for their Cornish crowd. A little birdie also told us that the after-party naughtiness is not to be missed; Koola Club and Chy Bar will be hosting the after-hours social gatherings over the whole weekend for adults only, which are ticketed events also. So make sure you check it out and book your ticket from just £25.
Don’t forget also that you can enter our competition to WIN 2 VIP passes to this weekend by entering here.
Music is played and memories are made here in Cornwall during Boardmasters – the one event that you and your pals must head down to Newquay for in August. With Faithless gracing our presence last year (who were epic!) it’s up to Chase & Status, Deadmau5, James Bay, Kaiser Chiefs and Primal Scream to blow our minds this time around! Having transformed the usually picturesque green grounds, Watergate Bay really is something else when thousands of music-loving individuals come together to dance (and drink) the weekend away in August. Yes, it is about the music (and the hangovers!) but don’t forget the reason behind it all – Surfing. Born in 1981, Boardmasters is now an integral part of the British surfing scene with Fistral Beach hosting another year of one of the biggest events in the professional British surfing calendar. (And we are just a stone’s throw away from it all – eek) So if you’re not ready to grab your sleeping bag or stove, don’t worry we can accommodate you for one, two, three or four nights here at the hotel. Day tickets start from just £47.50, but be quick – these are hot property and sell out faster than you can say Boardmasters!
The Little Orchard Cider and Music Festival is now in its fourth year and is our top pick for the end of the season cool down event. Hosted at Healy’s Cornish cider farm this really is an easy to get to location, being just a couple of miles off the A30 and centrally located in Cornwall. With a selection of Cornish ciders to guzzle down, vintage stalls to nosey at, a bucking broncho to conquer and bouncy castles to fall over in, September can’t come around fast enough! If you want a break from all the greenery and fancy a flash of ‘blue’ then pop over to our Bay Bar and sip a cocktail whilst breathing in the sea-breeze are from our outside decking area.
